Naomi Hinz
Owner / Instructor
Hi, I’m Naomi Hinz. I am the owner and head instructor at the Main Pointe School of Dance. I have worked with Main Pointe since September of 2015 and took ownership of the studio in the summer of 2016. Ever since I put on my first pair of dance shoes, dance has always been a true passion of mine. I started my dance training through Just for Kix in Willmar when I was 8 years old and instantly fell in love. Once I was old enough, I tried out for the Willmar Cardette Dance Team and danced with them on their starting Varsity Team all four years of high school. My senior year of high school I took on the position as one of the captains of the Cardette team. Once I graduated high school, I went off to college and found a deeper love and appreciation for dance. I auditioned for the dance program through the college and began my studio training. I had many unbelievable dance opportunities during my college career. One of which, I was chosen by the Shapiro & Smith dance company (based out of Minneapolis) to perform one of their company pieces ‘To Have and to Hold.’ In 2015 I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a minor in Dance. After graduating, I came back home and was given the incredible opportunity by Amanda McCain (the previous studio owner) to help teach alongside her at the studio. The following year, she gave me the even bigger opportunity to take it over – and of course I said YES! Teaching dance and sharing my love and passion for it has always been a dream of mine. I’m so incredibly lucky that I get to live out that dream each and every day and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
A little about me…I was born and raised in Kandiyohi and always said I would never come back to the area because I had a dream of being a big city girl. Little did I know was I would soon find out just how much I loved being a small town girl. After I graduated college, I purchased a little 7-acre farm just outside of Kandiyohi. This is where I reside now with my husband and 2 sons, 2 dogs, 1 mini donkey and 13-something goats! I love my little family and soak in all the moments I get to spend with them. Alongside teaching dance in the evenings, my husband and I also own a bookkeeping business (Cathy Counts) in Willmar that I run and work at daily.
I wouldn’t trade this crazy, beautiful life of mine for anything and I look forward to the opportunity of meeting and working with you and your dancer in the future!
